Comedian Jen Kober is set to perform in the newly reopened Grill on Sunday, January 15 at 8:30 pm. The free event is being sponsored by The Office of Student Life as an upbeat way to begin the New Year.
"We wanted to kick off this semester with a comedian because our fall comic got great reviews and an awesome turnout," explained Director of Student Life Sam Centellas. "We think a fun Friday night comic could kick off the year, showcase the newly remodeled University Grill and get folks to come out in the cold," he added.
According to Kober's official website, her comedy routine includes stand-up, storytelling and improvisation. She has performed at hundreds of college campuses across the nation and her comedy has been featured on multiple TV specials.
In addition to being a professional comedian, Kober was classically trained in acting at the Theatre School of DePaul University in Chicago and has appeared in numerous television shows including Showtime's "White Boyz in the Hood," the HBO comedy series "Curb Your Enthusiasm," the new NBC sitcom "Up All Night," and she is currently playing a recurring role as a lawyer in the new critically acclaimed HBO drama "Treme."
No tickets are required for the show, but seating is first come, first served. For more information on the life and work of Jen Kober, visit her official website at www.jenkober.com or follow her on Twitter @JenKober.
