With the production of Annie also brings the completion of the season for Broadway Theatre League at The Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend. However there are some great shows planned for next fall and patrons can already purchase their season tickets ensuring that they won't miss those great seats that they want.
Four shows are planned for Fall/Winter 2009-2001. Beginning with The Wedding Singer on Oct. 9 and 10, and commencing with Avenue Q on April 23 and 24, it promises to be an entertaining season that is bound to entertain all.
Also showing will be The Drowsy Chaperone on Jan. 29 and 30 and Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles on April 23 and 24.
The Wedding Singer is based on the hit Adam Sandler film of the same name, a musical; it promises to be both funny and engaging with a great cast and scores. The Drowsy Chaperone, set in 1920's is the tale of the mishaps of bride's wedding day. Winner of the most Tony awards in 2006, five in all, it is fun for the Broadway enthusiast. Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles is a multimedia event set to 60's era commercials with live singing and performing of Beatles hits. Finally, Avenue Q, which is set like a tenement building using puppets, and live actors. Although it is geared towards a younger audience it is not a performance for children.
Also this summer Mamma Mia will be performed on July 24 to 26.
Tickets are on sale for all shows and season tickets are a good option for those looking to save money, patrons can save up to $32 if purchased over the individual price of each performance. Tickets are also available for students with a valid student id card for half price in the bleacher seating.
