Well, it has been a really fast semester! We can't believe it's over already. Jason will be graduating and continuing his career with WSBT as a web producer and Brandi will be here one last semester to finish up.
There is so much we would like to say, but just don't have the room for it so we really would just like to give thanks to some important people. First of all, we must thank our staff. We have the best group of students any organization could ask for. They worked for a time this past semester for free because with the poor economy we weren't able to pull in the necessary advertising dollars to pay for all of us. So instead of not printing any issues after March, we all opted to work for free. That took dedication on all of our parts. We really think though, that our Friday evening meetings were always a treat, and we never knew what might happen at them and no one wanted to give that up. Sometimes they are so interesting we should sell tickets.
We would also like to thank our advisor Nancy Sulok, we couldn't shock her with anything at the meetings, but she often surprised us with her own stories. Her advice, ideas and encouragement have all been very much appreciated.
We also must thank San Centellas and Angie Klontz in Student Life. Without them we could not have had as successful of a year as we did. We as a university are very lucky to have them both.
Finally we would like to thank our readers. We have a very faithful following of students, faculty and employees which are really the reason we do this.
Editing the Preface for the past three semesters has been a great experience for both of us. Sure, it gets stressful, deadlines mixed with homework assignments, printed errors and budget issues, but all in all it has been great, and added to that the fact that we did not physically injure each other made it something none of us will ever forget.
For those of you who are graduating, good luck in everything you do-and those who are coming back in the fall, pick us up and see what's new. Don't forget the website, www.iusbpreface.com, we will be posting some archives throughout the summer, and possibly an online only issue here and there. Check it out, and sign up to receive news as we post things.
Have a safe and hot summer!
